Stunning modern bathroom in a listed building

Here we have a stunning bathroom which we fitted in a lovely listed building in Uckfield, East Sussex. In this room we had to make lots of changes to accommodate Potts Ltd's design.

To enter the room you had to step down from the master bedroom through a reduced-height door. Being a listed building, we had to construct a raised floor to achieve a level base for both the walk-in shower and the freestanding bath. The suite is Villeroy & Boch, the shower an Aqualisa iLux, and the glass shower screen was made bespoke to suit the reduced ceiling height.

The basin shelving was also bespoke. To carry the weight of the basin and Corian shelves without any visible supports, we fabricated a custom frame and concealed it entirely within the wall, so everything appears to float with no fixings on show. It's the kind of behind-the-scenes engineering that makes all the difference to the finished look. The room was half-tiled, with a glass shelf fitted to neatly cap off some boxwork.

As you can see, the customer chose a paint colour to complement the tiles and tie in with the age of the property.
