Traditional bath tap in a heritage bathroom installation, Maidstone, Kent

Traditional bathroom suite with tiling to suit

Another installation for a returning customer in Maidstone, Kent – this time a beautiful bathroom that made great use of the space.

The room was stripped back to bare walls and fitted with a Heritage traditional bathroom suite, complete with Victorian metro wall tiles and original style floor tiles. Heritage is a well-regarded British bathroom brand, known for authentic period designs that suit traditional homes like this one.

Our work involved overboarding the ceiling and re-plastering both the walls and ceiling, giving us the flat, true surfaces needed to fit the relatively small wall tiles neatly. Small tiles take longer to lay and call for real precision, as every one has to line up perfectly – but they reward the effort with a beautifully authentic finish.

The basin is fitted with traditional three-hole taps, where the hot and cold are separate from the central spout – a classic arrangement that suits the period styling. The close-coupled toilet is a practical choice too: it's space-saving, easy to clean, and keeps the pipework neatly hidden from view.

I'm sure you'll agree that the stars of the show are the elegant console basin, with its console legs and matching tap, and the geometric, authentically Victorian original style floor tiles.
